![]() It works like this: after pointing the gun at another tank, the reticle automatically locks onto this target. In the game, the auto-aim mechanism is used, allowing for tracking locked-on targets automatically. How Armor Thickness Is Calculated in Sniper Mode. How to Adjust the Auto-Aim Mode Settings. Some people don't want to pay the high cost for premium ammo so they just use the tanks natural regular/HE selection. Thats why i always carry all 3 types of ammo, just in case. I use HE only if im flanking and i can actually pen their sides or back armor, since the HE usually does higher damage than the regular ammo. The only time i use gold premium ammo is fighting from the front and need penetration, you usually don't need gold ammo for the sides or back, regular ammo usually works fine. I will use that unless their armor is still decent on the sides/back and then will just use regular ammo. If im shooting them from the back or sides, i see if HE ammo will pen well enough due to weaker armor. If im shooting them from the front i use higher pen gold ammo. If i run into heavier tanks that i need different ammo. I use regular ammo normally, im a pretty good shot and even with heavy armor tanks most have weak spots i can damage close up, or flanking. You of course usually use regular ammo and switch to HE or gold ammo if you have trouble with regular ammo, but there are a few tanks that are good with HE ammo just by itself. Its cheaper to use HE ammo because gold ammo costs more, but really all 3 types of ammo are useful in different ways. ![]() If you can't penetrate a tank that has thick armor, you can either try to damage the tank with HE ammo (which explodes causing damage instead of penetrating) or using gold ammo (which now usually has a higher pen rate but lower damage). 1) you are using regular ammo which has average pen and average damage.
